 This week special thanks go to our fantastic Councillor Becky Brunskill (Willington). She does a wonderful job serving her community. Plus, she recently abstained from voting for a 20% pay increase along with 26 others (which included all other Conservative councillors). Becky said: "There aren’t many organisations where employees get to vote on their own levels of pay- so why should we be any different? The Conservative group abstained from this motion because we feel we need to take the politics out of the whole process. We recommend a remuneration panel with the powers to take decisions which are fair and appropriate without influence from the press, public, or politicians."
