The Labour Association in North West Durham are reportedly in dispute over an imposed all women short list to select a candidate to replace Hilary Armstrong MP. 

Dr Michelle Tempest was chosen last year as the Conservative candidate to represent the North West Durham constituency.  The Conservative Association picked her as the winner from a selection process open to both men and women.
